pick the right door for you

Your house front door is one of the most visual parts of your home so should reflect your homes personality.Your front door can be a great focal point for your house and a great first impression,so time and effort should be taken in its style and the finish .Weather takes its toll on front doors but a solid wood door will last a lifetime if the yearly effort is made to paint or varnish or maybe you will choose the easy way and go maintenance free like a pvc.
So how do i choose whats the right door for me?

1.start with the size of your opening
a standard door has a door of around 32" but this varies from the age of the door ,the opening can be bigger to allow for a panel or glass.There are alot of options for a bigger opening much more elaborate doors can be created, have a look around your area, you may see someone has the perfect door you would like .if your home is in certain areas you may not be able to change your door eg:listed builings
Try to keep with the architectural style of your home if you live in a victorian or georgian home keep with that style maybe do some research on that style, see the many styles they had for that age .
